Online qual specialist Revelation launches iPhone app

US— Revelation, an agency specialising in online qual software and services, has developed an iPhone app that can be used to capture and record consumer behaviour in real time.

Respondents who download the app are able to record their purchases, behaviour and consumption through a diary function and upload photos relating to their environment. There are also open- and closed-ended prompts for quick barometers and deep probes.

Agency founder and CEO Steve August (pictured) said: “We are tremendously excited by the ability of app-based mobile research to capture ‘in the moment’ customer experiences, but there is still much to understand in terms of both technology and best practices.”

The app will be in public beta mode until the end of June Both researchers and respondents have been invited to take part in the testing.

Revelation’s app follows the launch of OnePoll’s iPhone survey tool and news that Lightspeed research is testing a similar product. But the first shot in the iPhone research app wars was fired by Everyday Lives with their ethnographic research tool.
