North America Technology

US— Research fraud prevention firm Imperium has launched software to verify parental consent so websites and apps can comply with new Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (Coppa) regulations.

The ChildGuardOnline tool uses a range of verification techniques so that parents can approve and manage access to websites that their children to visit.

Imperium founder and CEO Marshall Harrison said: “We employ numerous anti-fraud checks and balances to validate the identity of parents or guardians before any child’s site requests are approved for use, so that online businesses can feel confident that they are effectively adhering to Coppa.”

Coppa rules regulate the online collection of personal information of children under the age of 13.
