Gongos introduces SmartFly Beta to learn from mobile consumers

North America Technology

US— Gongos Research has beta-launched its new smartphone-based mobile ethnography research technology, SmartFly.

SmartFly has been designed to allow market researchers to interact live with consumers in 4G-enabled network environments. The type of work it could be used for include in-store evaluations, at-event sponsorship assessments and lifestyle explorations.

The platform has already been tested by an unnamed global skincare company, Gongos said, while “a major retailer” will be putting it to use later this month.

Research innovation VP Greg Heist said: “SmartFly will change the way we conduct ethnography, taking full advantage of the efficiency and immediacy afforded by the device that has become an extension of us as humans – the smartphone.”

Gongos said SmartFly’s availability will be limited until 4G-enabled smartphones and networks are expanded.
