Stumbling block for India's NRS – report

Publishers yet to commit to reviving readership survey, reports Mint newspaper

INDIA-- Attempts to revive the National Readership Survey (NRS) have hit a setback, according to business newspaper Mint.

The paper reports that India's biggest newspaper publisher, Bennett, Coleman & Co, has said no to funding the survey to the tune of Rs25m (£340,000).

Mint says various other publishers are also yet to commit to funding the NRS as they say they are already paying much less for the Indian Readership Survey, which is commissioned by the advertiser-backed Media Research Users Council.

The NRS has been suspended since 2006. Click here for the full report.
