RealityMine acquires USA TouchPoints

M&A UK

UK — RealityMine, a provider of mobile passive behaviour tools and technologies, has announced its acquisition of media usage survey USA TouchPoints.

USA TouchPoints, formerly operated by Media Behavior Institute (MBI), has been providing the US media industry with media planning data, including TV, radio, print, online and mobile, since 2010, when it was trialled by ESPN in the US. It was first launched in the UK by the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA) in 2006.

Touchpoints uses a smartphone app – eDiary – to allow study participants to record the media they use, where they are, what they are doing and how they are feeling throughout the day.

RealityMine has been involved with the USA TouchPoints product for some time, and has also supplied data collection technologies to power a UK TouchPoints diary, which combines the eDiary with RealityMine’s passive measurement service.

“We are excited to be taking the USA TouchPoints product forward,” said Rolfe Swinton, co-founder of RealityMine (pictured). “We’ll be introducing upgrades to the service before the end of the year with the new, enhanced product going live in 2014.”
