Former president of Millward Brown Canada joins WPP media shop

US-- WPP media agency MediaCom has hired Bill Ratcliffe as global head of consumer insights and receptivity.

Ratcliffe, a consumer psychologist, joins the firm after 13 years as president of sister company Millward Brown Canada.

In his new role, he will work with MediaCom's research teams worldwide on projects designed to help the agency better understand when and where consumers are most susceptible to brand messages.

Chairman and CEO Alexander Schmidt-Vogel said: “We are delighted to have Bill join our team. His mix of research skills, business savvy and consumer perspective will help MediaCom vault to the next level of consumer engagement, and help us to develop new tools that engage people and brands for mutual benefit.”

Ratcliffe will be based out of MediaCom's Toronto office. At Millward Brown, he has been replaced by James Conrad.
