CANADA — Provalis Research has announced the integration of its text analysis software, WordStat, with data analysis and statistical software, Stata.
The combined technologies are designed to allow analysis of text data to identify topics while also determining similarities and relations to other data components. It will allow numerical, categorical and date variables to be extracted from structured documents for text analytics. Once documents are processed, WordStat’s exploratory text analysis function provides researchers with analytics to extract themes and automatically identify patterns, including topic modelling.
“It means that someone can import news transcripts, reports, and extract not only the text, but also dates, numbers, etc.,” said Normand Péladeau, Provalis Research’s CEO.
