Polling site offers prizes for best questions

The Global Poll invites users to suggest questions, and vote for the best ones

AUSTRALIA-- A new free polling site is offering prizes to whoever can pose the most interesting poll questions.

The Global Poll is inviting people and organisations to submit “quirky, interesting, thought-provoking” poll questions that they would like to see posted on the site.

Users can vote for which questions they would like to appear when the site goes live on 12 May.

Prizes for the three most popular questions include a laptop and a broadband package worth over AU$2,000 each.

Site founder Bruce Mott said: “We based the Global Poll concept on the fact that people nowadays want to get instant reactions on various topics, share information quickly and express their opinions, hence the huge success of social media. It will be a great way to generate conversations and gain market research,” said Mott.

Voting will only be open to users who have registered (for free), to allow demographic information to be collected, and to help prevent duplicate responses. Poll results will be broken down by age, gender, geographic region and religion.

The site, which aims to generate revenue from advertising, will carry user-generated polls in categories including business, entertainment, the environment and politics.
