Polling giant Gallups into Kenya

Firm to coordinate African operations from new Nairobi office

KENYA-- Public opinion research firm Gallup is to expand its presence in Africa by opening a full service office in Kenya.

A Gallup spokesman told Research the new premises in Nairobi will act as a hub for the firm's African activities, and be led by Bob Tortora, the company's research director for sub-Saharan Africa.

The move brings the firm into competition with Kenya's established research agencies Infortrak and the Steadman Group, which was acquired by Synovate last year.
