Virgin Media hires Payne as strategic insight chief

UK— Virgin Media has appointed Michael Payne as director of strategic customer insights and one-to-one marketing.

He was previously director of one-to-one marketing at Lloyd’s Banking Group’s retail division, and was also a partner at Accenture.

Payne will join Virgin Media’s customer marketing organisation, which was created recently in a shake-up of the company’s marketing activities. He will report to chief marketing officer Nigel Gilbert, who himself worked as marketing director at Lloyd’s until December 2009.
