TNS names NMA's Maureen Duffy new UK CEO

UK— TNS has named Newspaper Marketing Agency (NMA) boss Maureen Duffy as UK chief executive officer, replacing Andrew Czarnowski in January.

Duffy has been NMA chief executive since 2003 and before that was commissioner for daytime programming at ITV. Earlier in her career she worked at the BBC, setting up a marketing department, and at J Walter Thompson as director of strategic communication.

At TNS she will report to Northern Europe CEO Judith Passingham, who said: “Maureen has a great leadership track record and experience of working with many UK clients.

“She brings with her a great level of energy and enthusiasm, together with a real passion for diagnosing and solving client business problems through the effective application of research-based information.“

Czarnowski, who is leaving the business at the end of the year after four years at the helm, oversaw the merger of the TNS and RI UK businesses and is credited by the firm with creating “a powerful market leading organisation”. His future plans are not known.
