Sony Pictures moves research EVP to marketing role

US— Sony Pictures Entertainment has moved research chief David Kaminow to the newly created role of president of worldwide strategic marketing.

Kaminow joined the studio in 2003 as senior vice president of worldwide research and has since helped develop marketing strategies for films including The Da Vinci Code, Spider-Man 2 and 3, and Angels & Demons.

His most recent role was executive vice president of worldwide research and marketing.

Kaminow will continue to oversee all the studio’s theatrical market research but will now also focus on film brand management and franchise evaluation for Sony Pictures’ worldwide marketing group.
