SmartRevenue hires global retail strategy chief

US— Shopper-focused research agency SmartRevenue has appointed Candace Adams, Wal-Mart’s former director of customer in-store experience insights, as its president of global retail strategy.

In the newly created role she will help clients use understanding of consumers and stores to improve customer experience, drive more shopping trips and increase basket size.

SmartRevenue CEO John Dranow said: “For the past three years at Wal-Mart, Candace has conducted best-in-class research that has led to the transformation of the store, both externally and internally. She is largely responsible for the makeover of Wal-Mart Stores and the Wal-Mart shopping experience, so SmartRevenue feels fortunate she is joining our team.”

Adams has also had spells at Research International and Philip Morris.
