Rentrak appoints Chemerow to new COO role

US— Media measurement agency Rentrak has appointed David Chemerow to the newly created role of chief operating officer.

Chemerow (pictured), who will also serve as chief financial officer, replaces executive vice president and chief financial officer Mark Thoenes who is leaving the firm to pursue new business opportunities.

Rentrak CEO Bill Livek said: “I’ve known David for more than seven years, having worked closely with him in the audience measurement industry. We look forward to having an executive of his calibre who has an eagle-eyed focus on cost and knows how to strategically allocate capital to maximise our revenue growth and increase shareholder value.”

Chemerow joins from outdoor ad sales agency Olympus Media where he was senior vice president and CFO. He is also currently non-executive chairman of Playboy Enterprises, a company he served as executive vice president of finance and operations in the 1990s.

He is the latest in a string of hires for Rentrak. Other recent additions include senior vice president Steven Walsh and director of sales Jeremy Gabor and chief research officer Bruce Goerlich and analytics expert Michael Vinson.
