The latest round-up of appointments and promotions from the global market research and consumer insight industry. This week: Effective Measure, GroupM, Insight Research Group, JRA Research, Burberry and RS Consulting.

Effective Measure in South Africa has appointed Ryan Harris as statistical analyst and Carl Davis as account manager. Harris has previously worked for Nielsen and the Digital Media & Marketing Association while Davis has had spells with ITWeb and BDFM Publishers.

In Australia, Paul Simpson has joined GroupM in the newly created role of chief knowledge officer. He joins from Southern Cross Austereo where he was head of strategy and analytics.

Sarah Chumsky has been appointed vice president of Insight Kids at Insight Research Group in the US. She has been with the firm since 2005 and was previously director of Insight Kids.

JRA Research in the UK has promoted Isla Cullingworth and Jenny Hall to senior research executives. The pair have worked as trainee research executives for three years.

UK-based fashion designer Burberry has hired Steven Sacks to fill the new role of senior vice president of customer insight. He joins Burberry from Lloyds Banking Group where he was director of consumer strategy and insight.

Dan Luca has been promoted to project manager from senior research executive at RS Consulting in the UK. The firm has also promoted Annalise Toberman and Naomi Crowther to research executives.

ImpactRx has appointed former IMS Health vice president and Accenture partner David Gascoigne as executive vice president of consulting analytics, innovation and alliances.
