The latest appointments and promotions in the global market research and consumer insight industry. This week: Simon-Kucher & Partners, Nielsen, Opinion Leader, OpinionPanel, Cint, The Pert Group, Research Runner, National Analysts Worldwide, HIMSS Analytics, NIESR, CMI, EEDAR and MRUC.

Strategy consulting firm Simon-Kucher & Partners has elected nine new partners: Chethan Sharma in London; Thomas Beducker and Tim Brzoska in Bonn; Philipp Biermann and Martin Gehring in Cologne; Onno Oldeman in Amsterdam; Manuel Osorio in the US; Damien Robert in Paris; and Enrico Trevisan in Milan.

Nielsen’s chief human resources officer Roberto Llamas is set to leave the company at the end of March. He has been in the role since June 2007.

Opinion Leader has hired Henna Ali as a specialist health research consultant. She joins from NHS South West Essex where she was a health improvement commissioning manager.

Melanie Cohen has joined OpinionPanel as a project director responsible for developing the company’s Bright Young Things proposition. She previously worked at the Central Office of Information and remains a visiting lecturer at the University of Westminster teaching applied social and market research.

Research software and services firm Cint has hired Jurgen van Leeuwen as European commercial director.

The Pert Group, based in Connecticut, has appointed Tony Ducoli as director of international development, Nina Fougere as account manager and Cheri Tabel as senior marketing manager. Ducoli and Fougere are both former Millward Brown employees, while Tabel was at the Service Management Group.

Julian Haste, the former sales director of Opinion Health, has launched sales consultancy Research Runner.

National Analysts Worldwide, a strategic research and consulting firm based in Philadelphia, has appointed Ken Athaide as vice president in its communications, technology and media practice. He most recently led the technology tracking team at Market Strategies International. Prior to that, he was at TNS for six years.

Marc Holland is the new vice president at healthcare insight firm HIMSS Analytics, overseeing data collection and quality, product management and market research. Previously he was president of System Research Services.

The National Institute of Economic and Social Research has named Jonathan Portes as director. Portes was most recently chief economist at the Cabinet Office.

Two new hires at research house CMI. Laurie Gaby becomes project manager and Juan Hernandez becomes network manager.

Video games research firm EEDAR has named Erik Brudvig as its director of editorial insights. He was previously the executive editor at entertainment website IGN, where he was the executive editor of the Xbox360 section.

Shaswati Saradar is the new director general at the Media Research Users Council in India. She takes over from Joseph Eapen who resigned in December. Prior to joining MRUC, Saradar was vice president and head of marketing for Europe and Russia at Zee Network.
