New chairman for Nielsen supervisory board

US— James Kilts has been appointed chairman of Nielsen’s supervisory board of directors, succeeding Dudlay Eustace.

Kilts is a founding partner of private equity house Centerview Partners, which owns a minority stake in Nielsen. He has sat on the ratings firm’s supervisory board since 2006.

Before joining Centerview Partners, Kilts was vice chairman of Procter & Gamble and CEO and president of The Gillette Company (before its merger with P&G). He also sits on the board of trustees at Knox College and The University of Chicago where he is chairman of the advisory board at the Booth School of Business.

Nielsen chairman and CEO David Calhoun said: “Jim is an extraordinary executive whom I’ve always admired and we’ve been delighted to have him on board the past two and a half years. With Jim serving as chairman of our supervisory board, we will continue to benefit from his guidance and leadership.”
