InterMedia appoints Robert Coonrod new chief executive

US— Media and communications research agency InterMedia has appointed Robert Coonrod to fill the newly created role of chief executive officer.

Coonrod (pictured) joins the firm from non-profit Meridian International Center where he was chief operating officer and currently serves as president of the board at the Public Diplomacy Council.

Earlier in his career Coonrod spent seven years as president and CEO of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and served as a foreign service officer for the United States Information Agency where he was posted to Italy and Yugoslavia.

The firm said that he will be responsible for building on existing success and realising new business opportunities.

Richard Carlson, chairman of the board of directors at InterMedia said: “Robert Coonrod is the ideal person to lead our organisation. He will bring great vision, experience and leadership skills in taking InterMedia to its next level.”
