UK— Business-to-business publisher Emap has appointed customer intelligence specialist Duncan Painter as its new chief executive, replacing David Gilbertson who stepped down in May this year.

Painter (pictured) currently serves as managing director of BSkyB subsidiary Sky IQ, which provides customer intelligence services to its parent and FTSE companies including Centrica and Zurich Financial Services.

Previously, he worked as global product leader at Experian Marketing Services, CEO at consumer intelligence firm ClarityBlue (which was bought by Experian) and European systems integration director at Hitachi Data Systems.

Emap chairman Irina Hemmers said: “Duncan has extensive experience of leading successful B2B and data companies and was the stand out candidate for the role.”

His start data has yet to be announced.
