He replaces Greg Dale in the role, who was promoted by the web audience measurement company to the position of chief operating officer last year.

Nicotra joins ComScore from AOL where he was senior vice president of advertising technology and chief technology officer for the Advertising.com business.

During his time at AOL, he was also responsible for carrying out technical due diligence for the acquisitions of TSM, Tacoda, Quigo, Buy.at and AdTech.

Dale said: “Chris has a reputation as an outstanding technology leader and we’re excited to welcome him as part of the ComScore management team. Chris’s extensive experience building large scale networks based on real-time data will be instrumental in the development of ComScore’s next generation of products based on our proprietary panel-centric hybrid methodology.”
