Peanut Labs brings social network sampling to UK

Sample Answers in deal to sell social network recruitment services

UK-- Peanut Labs is bringing its social network recruitment methodology to the UK through an agreement with Sample Answers.

The UK sample provider will sell Peanut Labs' Sample 3.0 service, which works by placing invitations to surveys on social network sites, under revenue share agreements with the site owners.

Mark Houston, Peanut Labs' vice president for marketing, told Research the recruitment technique avoids the problem of repeat respondents by getting a new sample every time, and takes advantage of the trend for web users to use social networks more and email less – which is particularly pronounced in the UK.

“Email has really declined in the UK,” said Houston. “People are just not paying attention to their email like they used to. That makes it tougher for panel companies, and it makes our model even more viable.”

Houston said the firm hopes to take Sample 3.0 to other European markets in the future.
