Outsell scales down MR growth forecast
US-- Outsell, which publishes analysis on the information industry, has drastically scaled down its growth projections for research in 2009.
In its annual forecast published in September 2008, Outsell was predicting 9.5% growth for “non-IT market research, reports and services”. In a new report it has revised that forecast down to 5%. Growth for the information industry as a whole has been revised down from 8.3% to 4.7%.
Louise Garnett said the changes were made as a result of the “economic turmoil” of the fourth quarter.
In the latest report, titled ‘What is good performance in 2009?', the firm highlights the importance of reliable business information, and continues to urge companies to take a bold approach amid the recession, with “prudent risk-taking” and investment in innovation, based on solid market understanding.
