Nielsen recruits for TV and internet measurement
US-- Nielsen has started recruiting households to test the simultaneous measurement of TV and online viewing habits.
Around 370 homes will be invited to join Nielsen's national TV ratings panel where they will have both their TV and internet usage monitored.
Clients reportedly raised concerns about the simultaneous measurement scheme last year, fearing that it could have a negative effect on the existing TV ratings sample.
However, Nielsen stressed yesterday that “maintaining the integrity of our currency panels will remain a top priority throughout” and that it would carefully monitor any potential impact on sample quality.
The firm said it will decide whether to expand the test to more homes in the autumn.
