Nielsen Online plays down India launch…
INDIA-- Nielsen Online has played down reports suggesting the firm has launched its research services in India.
News articles earlier this week said the company had started offering its AdRelevance and Market Intelligence products in the country, but a spokeswoman for Nielsen told Research: “We have not formally launched a service in India.”
She said the firm is in discussions with online publishers, agencies and industry bodies to gauge their interest in Nielsen Online's services – but, she stressed, there is no “launch plan” as yet.
However, it's a different story in the Middle East, where Nielsen has put out an official statement announcing the roll-out of web analytics tool SiteCensus and visitor demographics service Market Intelligence.
Piyush Mather, Nielsen's regional managing director for the Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan, said: “The internet is now a fundamental part of day-to-day life and a valuable information and shopping tool for millions of people in the UAE, making it vital for companies to understand their online audiences, how they behave and how to market to them.”
