Nielsen bags Bahrain eGovernment survey

Firm to measure consumers' satisfaction with government e-services

BAHRAIN-- The eGovernment Authority, an official body responsible for coordinating and executing ICT policies in Bahrain, has awarded Nielsen a contract to carry out a survey to measure the public's awareness, and satisfaction with various e-initiatives.

Between 2,000 and 2,500 people will be interviewed in the study, which will be split into three parts to measure satisfaction with government e-services, their impact on government and satisfaction among users of specific channels, such as the National Portal.

Mohammed Al Qaed, CEO of the eGovernment Authority, said: “These studies will help us establish benchmarks to measure our progress in the areas of customer satisfaction and awareness. Partaking in this comprehensive study will be a representative cross-section of the population, which will include citizens and residents from various socio-economic levels and industrial sectors from all of Bahrain's Governorates.”

He said the eGovernment Authority was “ready to amend our plans based on the study's results”.

Nielsen's managing director for the Gulf region, George Mikaelian, said: “This is indeed a tremendous project for the eGovernment Authority and this collaboration underscores our commitment to aiding it in providing a transparent view of their stakeholder's opinions.”
