Toluna CEO targets growth through respondent recruitment

North America Technology

US— Toluna CEO Frederic-Charles Petit has announced plans to grow the online panel provider by acquiring more respondents and rolling out the firm’s operations platform on a global scale.

Petit (pictured) said that Toluna has made a “significant investment” in signing up more respondents and has launched its Real-Time Sampling system – which allows respondents who are not part of a panel to take part in surveys – in new markets including Austria, Belgium, Germany, France, Spain, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands and India.

On top of the respondent recruitment drive, Toluna has completed the global roll out of its Unified Panelist System, which was acquired as part of the Greenfield Online deal last year.

The proprietary system is made up of a survey management tool and a panel management system and is designed to point the right respondents to the right survey. Under Greenfield it was only available in North America.

Petit said: “One of the key drivers in our decision to purchase Greenfield Online last year was the UPS system. This technology is unrivalled in our industry, and provides us with the enterprise management system essential for the continued growth of the company.”

Meanwhile, the firm has appointed Jeff Scott as president and Ron Franscella as chief revenue officer of Toluna North America. Scott joins from Lexis Nexis while Franscella previously managed a sales team for Greenfield Online.

In Europe the company has opened an office in Spain. Carlos Hidalgo de Morillo Jimenez, a recently appointed account director, will head up the Madrid-based operation.
