Pollster André Pineda dies aged 46

US— André Pineda, a Democratic pollster, has died at the age of 46. Reports say he took his own life.

Pineda ran his own consultancy, advising a range of public and private sector organisations including Symantec and Visa. In the political world he advised the former Governor of New Mexico, Bill Richardson, during the Democratic Party’s 2008 presidential primary and then later supported Barack Obama’s election campaign with Hispanic voter research.

Campaigns&Elections.com reports that earlier in his career Pineda held positions at polling firms including Greenberg Quinlan Rosner and Fairbank Maslin Maullin & Associates.
