GfK Asia and Mobile Entertainment Forum team up on industry report

SINGAPORE— GfK Asia and trade association the Mobile Entertainment Forum have struck a partnership to provide the industry with information about the market for mobile content.

Under the terms of the deal, GfK’s new Mobile Content Industry Report will be made available to MEF members. In return, MEF’s “wide-reaching influence” will assist GfK in promoting its mobile content research services around the world.

GfK will start collecting data in Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia from content aggregators, operators and online portals to provide guidance on the potential size of the industry, channel and pricing structures and a list of ‘hit’ mobile content products.

The firm said that the service will be rolled-out to other parts of Asia in the future.

Kevin Huang (pictured), regional senior account manager for GfK’s Asia’s telecoms division said: “Having been an authority in handset retail sales tracking, GfK is now looking to expand its service offerings to the mobile content industry. Helping the industry to better understand the market will help spur growth to new heights.”
