Chinese companies pile in for Vivaki's Pool project

CHINA— Publicis-owned digital media agency Vivaki has launched a Chinese version of The Pool – its collaborative research project focusing on online video adverts.

The Pool made a splash in the US in January last year with companies including Microsoft, Yahoo and CBS Interactive sharing insight and resources to test various video ad formats with the aim of producing industry-agreed standards and metrics for new advertising models.

Vivaki will use the same approach in China with clients including Shanghai GM, Huiyuan Juice, Chang’an Automobile and L’Oreal Paris and video sites such as China Network Television, Qiji, PPTV and Tudou taking part.

Curt Hecht (pictured), Vivaki Nerve Center CEO, said: “I’m thrilled to see China become the second market to launch The Pool. This clearly demonstrates the growing potential of this initiative and we look forward to introducing The Pool to our clients worldwide, providing them with the opportunity to work with industry leaders and consumers to determine engagement models of the future.”
