Minnesota Historical Society taps Vocus

US— The Minnesota Historical Society has picked PR software firm Vocus to provide technology to manage media relations and monitor news and social media mentions.

The society was formed in 1849 and serves as non-profit educational and cultural institution with the aim of telling the story of Minnesota through museum exhibits, libraries and collections, historic sites, book publishing and educational programmes.

By using the Vocus technology the society will be able to monitor social media and news coverage to help its public relations team identify relevant key influencers.

Kye Strance, Vocus’ director of product management, said: “History is full of rich content which makes it well suited for both traditional and social media engagement. That the Minnesota Historical Society has combined its resources, and is integrating its new media and traditional media relations activities on a single comprehensive platform, makes it a role model among the non-profit community.
