Millward Brown appoints new MD in Germany
GERMANY-- Millward Brown has named Bernd Büchner as its new managing director in Germany, replacing Manfred Tautscher who has left the company.
Büchner has been deputy MD since 2007, joining from TNS Emnid/Infratest where he worked as a senior research consultant in Bielefeld and Munich.
He has also had stints at Frost & Sullivan in Belgium and with Report International in Brussels and in London.
Discussing his new role, Büchner said: “The company has taken a very positive development in recent years and I am confident that we will also grow in the future. In particular, we want to expand our leading position in communications and brand research.”
Millward Brown currently employs 65 people in Germany, split between offices in Frankfurt and Hamburg.
Meanwhile in Denmark, the company has acquired qual agency Alsted Research. Terms were not disclosed.
The 20-year-old business was founded by Christian Alsted, who becomes a director at Millward Brown Denmark following the takeover. Irene Iversen, also a director, will have responsibility for the agency's qualitative staff.
Alsted employees are to relocate to Millward Brown's office at Rådhuspladsen in Copenhagen while respondent recruitment, focus groups and other qualitative research will be carried out at the former Alsted offices at Sortedam Dossering, which is also in the capital.
