Media Monitors launches London venture

US cable and broadcast monitoring firm moves into the UK

UK-- US cable and broadcast monitoring firm Media Monitors has opened a new office in London.

The firm will concentrate on radio monitoring in the UK, and has been testing systems and gathering pre-launch data for “several months”. Part of the service in the UK will be song data for every radio station covered.

Ben Hart, the UK managing director of Media Monitors' parent firm, RCS, will head the new office.

Phillipe Generali, president and CEO of Media Monitors, said: “We are excited about the launch of Media Monitors in the UK. Unlike in the US, four out of five spots in London radio come from a national agency. Media Monitors will provide the local sales staff with competitive information not available in the market presently.”

The firm will start by covering radio stations in London before expanding to include the rest of the country.
