TNS takes full ownership of Polish joint venture

POLAND— TNS has upped its stake in Osrodek Badania Opinii Publicznej (TNS OBOP) from 60% to 100% after buying the remainder of the firm’s shares from Telewizja Polska (TVP), Poland’s public broadcasting corporation.

The Polish company, headquartered in Warsaw, was founded in 1958 and specialises in media measurement and market and opinion research.

Its client list includes TVP, Unicredit, BAT, Mars, France Telecom and Danone. Earlier this year, however, it lost the TVP TV audience measurement contract to Nielsen.

TNS’ owner WPP said that the investment continues its strategy of “strengthening its capabilities in measurable marketing disciplines”.
