Kantar Ops to shut UK call centre
UK-- Kantar Operations will shut its call centre in Warwick in June after seeing a 50% decline in telephone interviewing volume since 2005.
As a result of reduced demand, the firm undertook a strategic review of its four UK call centres and decided to shut the Warwick operation.
UK managing director Sara Crabb said: “It's not the number of interviews conducted overall by Kantar Operations that's going down – it's a case of the interviews being collected through a different method.
“Projections for this year confirm that the downward trend in telephone volumes is set to continue, reducing to a level where we will have greater telephone centre capacity than is required to do the work."
Local press reports claim that more than 130 jobs will be lost as a result but Crabb said the firm is looking at “redeployment opportunities” for affected staff.

This does not surprize me at all. I have long stated to my area manager who has ignored what I had to say that being able to do interviews is on the decline. The public are sick and tired of scams they dont know who to trust. and to cold call over the phone and hen requesting personal details in order for that interviewer to be paid is a tough job. at least the job is a little easier if someone sees an interviewer on the door step and has the ability to see you and slam the door in your face and point at the no cold calling sign. much has been undertaken by the gvt to stop COLD CALLING. their are other methods of getting surveys done such as online however then you are missing the majority of the public fro being interviewed such as the older population and what they have to say is extremely important they have life of history and opiniosns to express.
