Ipsos in deal to provide Reuters polls

Agency to conduct surveys on consumer attitudes and confidence in deal with news agency

FRANCE-- Ipsos has entered a deal to conduct regular polls for Thomson Reuters.

The French agency will carry out multi-country polls on topics such as consumer attitudes, economic confidence, political issues and product ratings. Reuters will report on the research results.

Thomson Reuters said the agreement with Ipsos, which conducts research in 64 countries, will allow it to “take the pulse of countries that comprise 75% of the world's GDP”. It is the first time the news agency has entered a relationship of this kind with a research firm for international polling work.

Ipsos yesterday revealed its full results for 2008, which showed organic revenue growth of 7.8% to €979.3m, net profit up 10.8% to €51.5m, and operating margin up slightly to 10%.
