Indian JV for Millward Brown and IMRB
INDIA-- Millward Brown is launching a new company in India next month, in partnership with sister agency IMRB International.
The joint venture company, Millward Brown India (MBI), will be headed by Shishir Varma and have offices in Mumbai, Dehli and Bangalore.
IMRB has been Millward Brown's representative in India up to now, providing local clients access to services such as the Advanced Tracking Programmes, BrandDynamics and Link copy tests.
From March, MBI will be responsible for marketing Millward Brown's quantitative research offer in the country. Other specialist practice areas within the Millward Brown group, such as Optimor, Precis and Firefly, will be set up later but will operate independently of the JV.
MBI managing director Varma said: “Our aim will be to build a thinking organisation that develops appropriate new solutions to add value to our clients' business.”
Varma is a former president of Millward Brown Japan, but is currently working as a group account director in the firm's Sydney office.
Millward Brown will have a majority share in the MBI business. Both it and IMRB are part of WPP's Kantar Group of research companies.
