GMI sets up African-American panel

100,000 signed up to help companies target ‘lucrative, yet underserved niche'

US-- GMI has put together a new speciality panel that aims to help companies better target African-American consumers.

African-Americans account for 13% of the US population, and they are a “lucrative, yet underserved niche” according to panel director Amy Peltonen.

Peltonen said: “Assumptions and misperceptions are the biggest reasons companies fail in the African-American market.”

The new panel has 100,000 members.
