GfK posts prelim figures for 2006

Company breaks the €1bn sales barrier • Growth bats above estimated industry average • Healthcare and media were star performers

Preliminary figures from GfK Group have revealed a steady organic growth of 5.4% in 2006. GfK claims that the figure outperforms an estimated industry average of 4 to 5%.

Sales were up 19%, resulting in over €1bn worth of business.

Adjusted operating income was up 20% to €150m. Margins increased to 13.5%.

The high achievers in the business sectors were custom research (up 25.5%), media (up 21.7%) and healthcare (up 23.9%).

America represented a 35.7% hike in growth while Central and Eastern Europe posted 22.2%.
