GfK completes hat-trick of European deals

Invests in UK firm, buys Danish business and launches new venture in Albania

GERMANY-- GfK has completed three deals in the UK, Denmark and Albania – expanding its presence in Europe.

The firm has become a minority shareholder in Dmrkynetec, swapping its subsidiaries M2A and GfK Animal Health for a 26% stake in the UK agency, which specialises in the animal health, agricultural and horticultural industries.

French firm M2A and UK-based GfK Animal Research will be integrated into Dmrkynetec, led by CEO Stephen Hearn.

In a second move, GfK has acquired the remaining 13% of GfK Denmark to make it a wholly-owned group subsidiary.

The Danish firm, founded in 1989, focuses on the FMCG and healthcare markets and is led by Henrik Stender. Its clients include Coca-Cola, cigarette manufacturer Prince, Carlsberg and Unilever.

Lastly, the company has launched GfK Albania which will offer custom research to clients in central and eastern Europe. Adlej Pici has been installed as managing director.

The firm will offer a range of services including qualitative research, multi-topic surveys and customised contract work.

GfK became the majority shareholder in UK software sales monitoring company Chart Track earlier this month.
