GfK buys tourism researcher Ascent MI

German agency acquires Leisure Travel Monitor producer

UK-- GfK has acquired Ascent Market Intelligence, which specialises in the tourism industry.

Ascent produces the Leisure Travel Monitor, which provides market insight on UK holidaymakers.

The business will now trade as GfK Ascent MI, alongside GfK Retail and Technology's existing tourism research business.

Managing director Sarah Smalley said: “Joining GfK is an important step for us. Through the GfK platform and network, we have found a strategic international partner for future growth and we look forward to further developing our range of services for our clients and industry partners.”
