Analyst predict Aegis break-up in Guardian report

UK-- With Aegis' full year results due next week, Nick Fisher, writer of The Guardian's Market Forces blog, claims there is increasing talk in the City of a break up of the Aegis business.

Synovate could be sold off by its parent company, marketing group Aegis, to pave the way for a merger with French advertising group Havas, according to the blog.

Rumours about Synovate's future first appeared at the turn of the year when it was reported that Aegis was to carry out a strategic review of its business.

Then, in early February, it was reported that GfK and private equity house Apax Partners were rumoured to have shown an interest in buying the company
