Q2 finds Gartner 'solidly back on track' says CEO

US— IT market research specialist Gartner is “solidly back on track”, according to CEO Gene Hall, with second quarter revenues up 16% to $314.2m and net income up 17% to $20.1m.

Research revenue increased 14% to $209.1m, while consulting sales rose 9% to $75.8m. Revenue from events was up 75% to $29.3m, reflecting an increase in the number of events hosted during the period.

Hall said: “During the second quarter, our top line growth continued to accelerate in all three of our businesses and our earnings exceeded expectations. The success of our initiatives to improve sales effectiveness and enhance the value provided by our services, coupled with a stronger sales environment, drove these results.

“We are solidly back on track to deliver double-digit revenue and earnings growth over the long-term.”
