Pan-Am industry survey finds regional optimism

MEXICO— A pan-American state of the industry survey has found a general sense of optimism for the future growth of the business, with 69% of respondents forecasting that 2011 revenues will exceed 2010’s.

The survey, carried out by the nine research associations that make up the Americas Research Industry Alliance (ARIA), interviewed 146 companies across Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, the US and Uruguay.

Sixty-two percent of survey participants said 2011 first quarter revenue was higher than the same period a year ago.

ARIA executive director Alejandro Garnica Andrade said: “This is the first time that we have assessed the sentiment of market research business leaders across the hemisphere. We are pleased to provide this important information to the industry and expect that response rates will continue to increase as we field future surveys.”
