Financials North America

US— A mobile phone service that allows wireless carriers to serve ads and surveys to people via their device home screens has raised $5m in a series C round of funding.

Mobile Posse has partnerships with Verizon, MetroPCS, US Cellular and Cricket to deliver branded home screen portals that phone users can opt-in to, providing them with information such as weather forecasts or local gas prices alongside adverts, survey invitations and promotional offers from local and national advertisers.

The company says it reaches more than 15 million consumers through its various partnerships. “The home screen delivers proven engagement and we are thrilled that investors agree,” said Mobile Posse CEO Jon Jackson.

Financing comes from Harbert Venture Partners, Softbank Capital, Court Square Venture, Columbia Capital and a number of individual investors.
