KnowledgeHound raises $1.2m seed funding

Financials News North America

US — Market research software company KnowledgeHound has announced it has closed a $1.2 million seed round.

It includes investments from Listen Ventures’ Jeff Cantalupo and Mitten Group founder Mark Mitten. KnowledgeHound said the investment will be used to support its search engine, data-visualisation and data-science teams and technology.

Co-founded by former Procter & Gamble consumer insights manager Kristi Zuhlke (pictured), KnowledgeHound’s natural-language search and data visualisations provide instant access to an organisation’s market research data in seconds rather than weeks. The company’s current customer base includes brands such as Procter & Gamble and Pepsi.

Zuhlke, KnowledgeHound’s CEO, said: “As part of Procter & Gamble’s consumer & market knowledge group, it was my job to know everything about specific markets and consumers, and I would waste huge amounts of time searching for data that I knew we already had, but which I could never find. If I had that struggle at one of the world’s best-run consumer companies, I knew everyone else had to be feeling the same pain.”
