Ex-JD Power president invests in Outsell

US— Information industry research and analysis firm Outsell has a new minority investor – former JD Power president Stephen Goodall.

Along with his investment, Goodall has been appointed executive vice president and a board director of the company and will report to co-founder and CEO Anthea Stratigos.

Goodall was JD Power president from 1996 to 2008, helping steer the business through its acquisition by The McGraw-Hill Companies.

More recently he has served as a special adviser to JD Power’s new president and president of the media and information segment at McGraw-Hill.

Outsell co-founder and corporate development officer Greg Chagaris said: “Steve’s extensive experience as an information company executive, as well as his strategic vision, will be extremely valuable to Outsell as we enter our next stage of growth.”

Earlier this year Outsell bought The Gilbane Group, which carries out research in the areas of content and publishing technology.
