US— Texas-based consumer research agency Enthuze has been awarded $1.65m by the technology investment house Satai and the South Texas Regional Center of Innovation and Commercialization through the Texas Emerging Technology Fund.

The investment, which will fund the development and commercialisation of Enthuze’s system to mine data from social networks, is part of an $8.65m round of funding to five technology companies in the San Antonio area.

Rick Perry, Governor of Texas (pictured), said: “These five investments demonstrate the broad range of our state’s diverse industries and will help develop, market and commercialise these innovative technologies.”

Other firms receiving money were Advitech for its spatial disorientation products; American Stem Cell to improve the success of cord blood stem cell transplants; Bio2Medical to commercialise a new catheter; and Pronucleotein to develop a suite of products for food safety testing.
