$12m financing for marketing software firm Visual IQ

US— Marketing intelligence software provider Visual IQ has raised $12m in funding from Volition Capital and existing backer Fog City Capital.

Funds have been earmarked for product development and sales growth.

The firm provides software tools to help clients capture, integrate and analyse marketing performance data to improve ad effectiveness. It currently manages over $5bn in media spend on behalf of clients, according to a statement.

Visual IQ is headed by co-founder and CEO Manu Mathew (pictured). Fog City previously invested $3m in the company back in August 2010.
