Ex-Ipsos France chief Truchi to head Ifop
FRANCE-- Former Ipsos France boss Stéphane Truchi is to become chairman of the executive board of French research and polling firm Ifop.
Chairman Laurence Parisot is stepping down as the company, which until now has operated under a board of directors, is reorganised under an executive board and supervisory board.
Parisot, Ifop's majority shareholder, will remain as a member of the executive board, alongside Truchi and managing director Olivier Bauby, head of human resources Pierre Warin and chief financial officer Anne Pease.
Truchi announced his departure from Ipsos in December, along with Pierre Giacometti, with whom he shared responsibility as joint managing director. Both blamed a divergence of views with the group's leadership on its management and strategy. Truchi told Research at the time that he wanted to stay in the research industry, and focus on “new ways of gathering data and reaching respondents”.
Parisot said Truchi's appointment “gives a new momentum to Ifop”. The firm is planning to expand its work in the areas of new trends, digital convergence and luxury goods.
