Delib to monitor consumer views on the internet

Opinion Tracker launched to scour blogs and forums for insight

UK-- Delib, an e-consultancy specialising in creating dialogue between the Government and the public, has launched Opinion Tracker, a tool that monitors content in blogs and forums.

The tool uses internet spiders to trace keywords and a team of analysts then process the data to provide end analysis and metrics.

Opinion Tracker is being used for the first time to cover the London mayoral elections, where opinions from a range of online sources are being used to measure the popularity of each candidate.

Chris Quigley, a director at Delib, told Research that Opinion Tracker is scanning around two million sites for the London mayoral election, providing weekly analysis from a sample of 1,000 blogs and forums.

Meanwhile, US blog watcher BuzzLogic has acquired software writer Activeweave for an undisclosed sum.

BlogRovR, Activeweave's blog subscription manager that seeks out the latest updates from a user's favourite blog and finds related stories from around the web, will be integrated into BuzzLogic's targeted advertising product range.
